A 24-month randomized, double-blind, placebo-controlled clinical trial in 100 postmenopausal women found that Epimedium-derived phytoestrogen flavonoids (containing 60 mg icariin daily) supported healthy bone mineral density outcomes compared to placebo.Journal of Bone and Mineral Research, 2007
