“Meta-analysis of 11 RCTs examining L-arginine supplementation for blood pressure. Oral L-arginine (4-24 g/day) significantly reduced systolic BP by 5.39 mmHg (p<0.001) and diastolic BP by 2.66 mmHg (p=0.003) versus placebo, consistent with its role as a nitric oxide precursor supporting endothelial vasodilation.”Dong et al., American Heart Journal, 2011
“Meta-analysis of 56 studies (mix of RCTs and controlled trials) evaluating L-arginine supplementation for exercise performance. Doses of 1.5-11.2 g taken 60-90 minutes pre-exercise significantly improved time to exhaustion (SMD=0.22, p=0.048) and VO2max, primarily via nitric oxide-mediated improvements in blood flow.”Viribay et al., Nutrients, 2020
