Yellow Maca Root

Lepidium meyenii (yellow ecotype)

The most common and commercially cultivated ecotype of Peruvian maca. Yellow maca offers the most balanced phytochemical profile across the macamide and glucosinolate spectrum, and has been the primary variety studied in clinical trials on sexual desire and general vitality.

A double-blind, randomized clinical trial in 50 men found that 2,400 mg/day of maca dry extract for 12 weeks produced a significantly greater improvement in subjective well-being and sexual satisfaction scores compared to placebo.Andrologia, 2009
