Double-blind, placebo-controlled RCT of 75 healthy young men. Phosphatidylserine (600 mg/day for 10 days) significantly blunted cortisol and ACTH responses to physical stress (cycling) versus placebo (p<0.05), demonstrating its role in attenuating HPA axis activation during exercise-induced stress.Monteleone et al., Neuroendocrinology, 1992
RCT of 78 elderly subjects with mild cognitive impairment. Soy-derived phosphatidylserine (100 mg three times daily) for 6 months significantly improved memory recognition, memory recall, executive functions, and mental flexibility versus placebo (all p<0.05).Kato-Kataoka et al., Journal of Clinical Biochemistry and Nutrition, 2010
